EN-ROUTE IR

En-Route Instrument Rating training allows the pilot to fly IFR in IMC during the en-route phase of the flight and safely transition between IFR and VFR or vice versa.

The theory training consists of 80 hours of distance learning. Instrument Rating theory is conducted with Computer Based Training (CBT) from Civil Aviation Training. 10% of the course will be held in Norrköping with the instructors from the school.

The practical training consists of 15 hours in aeroplane, of which 5 hours can be performed privately before the training at the school.

Training duration: 3 months

 

Prerequisites:

hold a PPL(A) or CPL(A)
hold a valid single engine class rating for the SE EIR-course
hold valid single- and multi engine class ratings for the ME EIR-course
have completed at least 20 hours of cross-country flight as PIC in aeroplanes
hold a valid medical certificate. If the applicant has a medical class 2, the tone audiometry requirements of a class 1 medical must be met
hold a valid night qualification if the EIR is to be used at night
